GBS & Pregnancy: Information needed 12-2001

After receiving a request from a reader whose pregnant wife has GBS (see Readers' Comments), I have become aware of the lack of information on GBS+Pregnancy. I am putting together a dedicated page on the subject. Please email to share your story or information that could help them.
Thank you, everybody who wrote it, for your emails and calls during the year - Happy Holidays!

In brief - november 2001 11-2001

This month Peter Norlund has chosen to write in and share his story, see 'Case Histories'. These case histories are very popular among patients and their families, as they can find support, advice and solace in knowing that others have had precisely the same pattern of symptoms and lived to tell the tale.... The course of the syndrome as well as symptoms vary from patient to patient, and so reading other patients' stories is very useful and supportive, both to patients and to health personnel. Please email to share your story as a GBS patient, an ex-patient or a relative.

Wieghorst back in play 09-2001

Danish Morten Wieghorst, football player for Scottish Celtics, is in play again. He scored a goal in his first game since his comeback, and thanks everyone for their sympathy. Reports can be found on the major search engines. The syndrome is still mistakenly being reported by Yahoo Sport (danish version) and a major Danish newspaper, Politiken, as being a brain disease. Morten was diagnosed as suffering from GBS in October 2000, and required the use of a ventilator for a while, before his recovery and comeback.
